Photoshop Photo Tutorial 2.1

Photoshop Photo Tutorial 2 Part 1

Hello everyone, I am back with a new picture tutorial of photoshop.

Today, we are gonna get a simple lens and low polygon background behind the metal text we created last time. Even though we will start from scratch. Cause tutorial is for everyone who wants to try out photoshop from the very beginning.

Note: For those who have not been to my last tutorial here is the link to that one. (I am using Photoshop 2020 cc version)

Note: Some steps might be repeated from the last time, you can learn some steps from the last article and if you know some steps already then you can skip those.

So, without wasting any time let’s get started.

Step 0:

Install photoshop(for those who haven’t yet installed😁.)

Open photoshop and create a new composition of any dimension you want. (you can refer to the last article)(same as last time I am going with 1920x1080).

Always observe the changes in the layer and background itself. And enjoy doing and manipulating it yourself.

Step 1:

Go to layer and then background from layer option. (you can also give the color of your choice from the beginning when you create a background.)

Go to the background and click on unlock.

Then you will see something like this (layer unlocked for editing)

Step 2:

Double click on that or to fx button right below it and go to gradient overlay.

Here, this is how the box will look

Double click in that gradient color (on the color)

Then double click on the circled point and select any color of your choice one after another.

Press ok every time your selection is done. And come back to the layer screen.

Can you also see that small circle in that same color bar that I have marked in green? Yes, that is the one with which you can decide the area of both colors by moving it left to right or right to left.

Step 3:

Go to layer and select new and then layer(or simply press Shift+Ctrl+N

And press ok.

Then go to the text tool and select an area of your requirement by dragging. Then enter the text you want (in my case I am having text TT47) adjust its size and position (you can also refer the last article as these steps are shown there in somewhat more detail).

It will look something like this. (you can adjust the color of the text from the color tab)

Select the text again and apply the color as per your choice (I am going with white though it is shown blue.😅 as it was previously used so, it became the default.)

(Text color selection)

Step 4:

Come back to the layer tab.

Select the same layer you are in and then go to the same fx button or double click and select Bevel & Emboss.

Adjust the Stats on the box as per your wish (I am going with previously used settings)

Then you can add color overlay as well as shadows, outer glow, inner glow, etc. as per your choice.

You can even use texture and contour in bevel and emboss.

(I have added drop shadow for a better look)

Then, when you are done, press ok.

Step 5:

Now click on the eye icon on the metal solid text.

And see it turning off.

Go to the background panel (click on it).

Click on gradient overlay(do not turn the tick off) and adjust the angle as I have as per your requirements.

And there is an awesome looking background.

Step 6 (optional):

Create a new layer above the background layer

Go to the brush tool.

And adjust the size of the pointer by right-clicking and adjust the pointer size with soft round so that if we darken the corners or lighten the other one so that both look nice (maybe a big size is better for better results).

Then click on the color picker.

A window will pop to select a color.

To select the color by clicking this tool named eyedropper tool.

And then go to the rightmost corner and then click.

Select a bit darker shade of the same.

Then apply that color to the darker corner to give it a nice dark shade.

And repeat same for lighter side but instead of darker shade choose a lighter/brighter or maybe whiter shade.

Step 7:

Merge the background layer and another layer (not the one having text)(take the one which we have edited with the brush tool.

How to merge?

Select both the layers and right-click on either of them and click on merge layers.

Go to this lasso tool and then hold-click(short click) on it to select the polygon lasso tool.

And make a triangle (or you can even make a polygon like square and pentagon and other polygons)anywhere in the canvas.

Make sure you complete the polygon. As a small circle appears under the polygon lasso tool pointer which indicates the endpoint(it connects start to the end) when you are completing it.

Then go to filter > blur> average.

And after you click you will see the triangle kind of is like a cut-out from the canvas doesn’t it?? 😂 maybe something else but, the main thing is complete here.

To deselect that triangle, you will need to Press Ctrl+D and then to make that Average Effect again use Alt+Ctrl+F.

For now, just make some of those that fill the full canvas with your own amazing skills of photoshop that you have learned until now. Make sure you make in such a way that edges always meet one other triangle. Good Luck. Try making it as awesome as possible you never want to let your creation go down right??

I got this at the end:

Guess the length is too much so maybe we will continue in the next part of the Photoshop Photo tutorial.

Till then Stay Safe Stay Home (And maybe Do Photoshop 😁).

The article is made for everyone so enjoy. I’ve tried my best to keep a good game going with this one and tried to include almost all possible details for this tutorial. Hope you like it.

Yours Friendly

Sxreyax.
